This week in Social Studies, the students wrapped up the ancient Greece unit. The students completed a unit test on Thursday. Students also finished a project on Greek pottery, where they illustrated and designed a scene on a pottery outline. Then they wrote as if they were an archeology student who had just found this ancient pot. The students wrote about the illustration and described what they knew about the history of ancient Greece. Then some took the extra credit challenge of considering what artifacts are left by us that would be helpful to archeologists in the future who are researching us.
Next week we are off to join the Roman Legions. We will begin with the geography of the Italian peninsula and complete a TALDOGS map of the region. Then we will begin to examine the mythological founding of the city-state Rome.
Have a great weekend!
