After our reading assessment on Wednesday, we moved into writing our own hero’s journey. So fun and creative! We began the brainstorming process today, and I encouraged students to think about this and work on it some over the weekend or during Spartan Time on Monday. The clearer picture they have of their hero, the easier creating a journey will be!
All of next week will be focused on writing the narrative. We will do a mini-lesson each day and then spend time writing for the remainder of the class. Students should be working on this each night, and we hope to wrap it up by the beginning of the following week.
Lastly, we will spend a chunk of time on Monday reviewing this week’s assessment and corrections as well as their hero comparison paragraphs. Corrections to both of these assignments will be due on Friday, September 22. Further explanation of the corrections will be given on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!
