This week in Social Studies the topic has been on Mesopotamia. We first began with a map of Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent. Students analyzed the impact of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers both positive and negative on the land. Students should be completing an activity over the weekend on their overall opinion of the rivers, whether they were a “blessing or a burden.” Students began this activity on Thursday by working in the SAS curriculum pathways website. Students can go to Google Classroom to find the assignment and also attach their completed activities back to Classroom from the SAS website. No worries if they have problems attaching their completed activities, I can help them with that part. They just need to complete the activity and save it.
Next week there will be a quiz on Mesopotamia on Wednesday. Then we will begin the 2nd portion of the unit by looking at the development of the ancient Egyptian civilization as well as comparing and contrasting the rivers and geography.
Have a great weekend!
