Just a quick heads up to let you know that the average score for sixth grade students on all four tracks here at Salem Middle School on both the science and the social studies end of grade exam was a 71.
That means when you see your child’s score on the exam, you should be hoping that they made something in the ball park of a 70 on both exams. That would represent "average" performance as compared to their peers here at Salem.
Anything higher than a 70 would represent "above average" performance. Anything that is far from a 70 would suggest that your child struggled on the exam as compared to their peers here at Salem.
As a reminder, the scores will be attached to your child’s report card — which is coming home on Friday of this week.
