Shopping for Christmas? Think about a Chromebook!

Hey Moms and Dads,

If you are looking for a holiday present that your child will get some mileage out of, you might want to think about picking up a Chromebook!

They are great devices with full keyboards that are designed to (1). get users to the Internet and (2). connect users to their Google accounts — where they can access Word Processors, Spreadsheet programs and Slides — a version of PowerPoint.

What makes them perfect for middle schoolers is that they are small enough to carry around without trouble. Better yet, all students in WCPSS have a Google Account that they are using pretty regularly in class.

What makes them perfect for middle school parents is that you can pick up a new one for about $150 and a used one for about $70.

I’ve got tons of Chromebooks that I’ve purchased with my own money in my classroom that you are welcome to look at if you are interested in taking one for a spin. When I buy new ones, I prefer Acers like this one. I’ve also had a ton of luck with used ones like this that I pick up on eBay.

Let me know if you have any questions!
