Welcome back! Wow- that was a long one! I’m so happy to get back; it was great to see all of the sweet faces this morning!
I have updated my website with the schedule for the week and with the homework. We are continuing our study of speeches with President Bush’s speech after the events of September 11th, 2001 and President Obama’s speech after the events in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012. We will look for speech techniques used and compare these speeches to FDR’s speech after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
This week’s root word is “port”. Students will process the words in their notebooks Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, and there will be a classwork check on the words on Friday.
Hope everyone is feeling rested and ready for big things in quarter three!
