Academic Vocabulary Begins!

Salem is rolling out a new vocabulary “program” to help students learn and/or better understand common academic vocabulary. The Gnomes team will be tackling two of the academic vocabulary words each week. We will be investigating the origins of the word, synonyms and antonyms, creating emjoi’s for the word, and Mr. Ferriter will be recording stories which discuss the words in “real life”. This week’s words are acquire and capture. For this week’s stories by Mr. Ferriter, scan the QR codes below. Parents, this could be a great talking point for you and your student! Enjoy!
