Working on Accessing Gradebook in Class Today

Dear Parents,

Just a heads up to let you know that your students had the chance to sign up to access the online gradebook in class today. Please check with your child to see if they did this. If they did, please ask them for their usernames and passwords. Keeping a record of those at home will help in case your child forgets how to login.

If they didn’t, please sit down with them and get them signed in. Here are the directions:

It’s really important that you and/or your child can access the online gradebook. We don’t send paper copies of gradesheets home on the Gnomes team. Instead, we expect students to check their grades online regularly — something that can happen from any of our rooms during Spartan Time.

While signing up for access can be a bit of an initial hassle — the state’s system (called NC ED Cloud) is more than a little wonky — the username and password that your child creates today will be good for all of their time here at Salem Middle School. That makes the initial hassle worth it.

Hope this helps,
Bill Ferriter
