Want Science Updates and News via Text?

Dear Parents AND Students,

One of the things that I love to share with students are interesting stories about happenings in the science world. For example, did you know that the astronauts on the International Space Station will be eating lettuce grown in space for the first time today? Or that scientists discovered a sea plant that works a lot like a solar panel?

I’m constantly reading interesting science articles and spotting interesting science videos that are connected to the content that we are studying in class. To make sharing that content with you easier, I’m going to start using a service called Remind  — which will send text messages and/or email with links to cool science content to anyone who is interested.

Right now, I’m planning on sending two or three interesting links a week.  If the service is working well and seems worthwhile, I may start sending more.

Sound like something you would be interested in receiving?  Then text @gnomesci to 81010 or send an email to gnomesci@mail.remind.com

You can find additional directions attached to the bottom of this message.

A few things to note:

1). If you are a student, you are going to have to have your parent’s permission to receive these messages.

2). I will continue to share important classroom updates — deadlines, due dates, handouts — here on the Gnomes site.

3). You can unsubscribe from classroom updates at any time.

Hope this helps,

Bill Ferriter
