In science for the past two weeks, we’ve been studying visible light and the electromagnetic spectrum.
We’ve been studying vocabulary words like transparent, translucent and opaque. We’ve also been studying the ideas of transmission, absorption, reflection and scattering. We conducted a minilab using the flashlights that you sent in for us that the kids were really into — and they turned in a mini-lab report on Wednesday. We finished our study by looking at the structure and functions of the human eye. The kids are always fascinated with how the parts of their bodies work.
Today, we looked at infrared light. Specifically, we were exploring the role that infrared light can play in helping us to study the solar system.
