I can’t believe we only have two weeks of the quarter left! It has flown!
Grades will be closed after Friday, Dec. 12, so please make sure that all make-up work and corrections are turned into me before Friday afternoon.
We are plowing through our speech unit and will continue to do so next week. We will wrap up the “I Have a Dream” Speech with a quiz on Wednesday. We will then read a speech given by President Obama and look at a couple of editorials written about the impact of the television on our society. I plan to complete the unit with our unit test on Wednesday, December 17.
While reading various speeches, we will continue to work on our own “dream speech”. Next week we will focus on drafting and revising the speeches; brainstorming is due Monday. If all goes as planned, students will give their speeches Thursday, December 18, just before track out. Anyone who misses either the assessment or the speech presentation will be allowed to make it up when we return in January. All of the materials for writing the speech are on my wiki in the writing folder.
Please check my wiki for next week’s homework, and let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful weekend!
